- Dr. Frank J. DiTirro was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in upstate, New York. He attended Denison University, in Granville, Ohio where he graduated in 1975 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree, in biological sciences.
- Dr. DiTirro earned his Masters of Science degree in Human Anatomy, in 1979 and his Doctorate of Philosophy degree in Neuroanatomy, in 1981, from the Ohio State University Department of Anatomy. His research was focused upon brain-spinal cord neurotransmitters that are involved in pain, pain modulation and sleep disorder.
- He attended the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine and graduated in 1985, with his Doctor of Medicine degree. His internship and Internal Medicine residency were completed at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital in Los Angeles, California, graduating in 1988. He completed his fellowship in pulmonary disease and critical care medicine in 1990, after which he entered private practice in Cincinnati, Ohio.
He has been active in clinical practice, teaching, and administrative medicine. More recently, he has become involved in naturopathic treatments for chronic pain, anxiety, sleep disorders, and dysphoria (otherwise known as mild to moderate depression). His background in the research of the central nervous system distribution of specific neurotransmitters such as serotonin, Substance-P, somatostatin, and methionine encephalin (an endorphin substance) has prepared him for his consultative role in the administration of naturopathic supplements.
