Brain Speed Decreases With Age Starting as Early as Age 30
The normal brain processes a thought at the rate of 320 milliseconds. Typically, around age 40, and as early as age 30, the brain begins to slow at rate of 10 milliseconds every 10 years. 3. Eat Healthy – Start with antioxidants that clean up free radicals. Free radicals are all the junky things floating around in our bodies that can lead to cancer. Foods high in antioxidants are fruits, veggies, beans, whole grains, nuts, and spices. No healthy diet is complete without Omega-3 fish oil, so start taking a good fish oil today. Supplementing your diet with amino acids, the building blocks of brain neurotransmitters, is important too.
4. Relax – Chronic stress can cause damage to the hippocampus, where memory formation occurs.
5. Sleep – Get lots of rest. The body restores itself during the sleep cycle.
6. Have Fun – Having fun and enjoying a laugh releases dopamine. Dopamine is the neurotransmitter that keeps you alert and helps you respond to stresses.
