Avoid Products That Contain Phenylalanine and Tryptophan in the Same Bottle
There are some companies that put every amino acid that has been touted as a “natural mood enhancer” into one bottle. These companies have clearly not done their research. It is well documented that Phenylalanine and Tyrptophan (in the form of 5-Htp) have an antagonistic relationship; essentially one amino cancels the effect of the other. To be effectively
absorbed into the body the two amino acids have to be taken separately, about 4-6 hours apart. This is why we offer Protazen Base Formula and Protazen 5-Htp Serotonin Support in separate bottles.
The amino acids in the Protazen Base Formula: l-tyrosine, dl-Phenylalanine, and SAMe (a precursor of methionine) all have a complimentary relationship; essentially there is a synergy among these amino acids. Our research and understanding of how amino acids work, is what makes the Protazen formulas the best supplements to support positive mood and mental health.
A good reference manual regarding amino acids is a book by Eric Braverman, M.D. called “The Healing Nutrients Within 3rd Edition.”
